What are you really like on the inside?
Been hacking away at this. Not really satisfied with face, but I've been learning that I need more focus in my artwork in general. I also learned that the 4h pencil is not totally useless. I used to work only in 6b/ebony, and that MAJORLY hinded on my ability to draw details and light values. Overall, I've learned a ton from just this picture. Alot of fun, too! Symbolism/analysis: Drapery clothing/earrings: wealth, physical beauty Her face/hair: (Obviously) also physical wealth and beauty Mirror: vanity, 'reflection' ...thing: ugly, what's on the inside Torn paper: fuzziness, unclarity, difficulty to determine something blank space: held out in the open, easily seen, truth. Just a basic concept, but it was pretty interesting to add the different elements. Graphite, 15-20 hours |
